Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Fuel Injector Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, servicing, repairing, and maintaining fuel injector systems for gasoline and diesel engines. This role requires a strong technical background, precision in handling mechanical components, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect, clean, test, and repair fuel injectors using specialized equipment.
- Diagnose issues related to fuel delivery systems, including flow restrictions, leaks, and injector malfunction.
- Disassemble, service, and reassemble fuel injectors following manufacturer specifications.
- Calibrate and adjust injectors to ensure optimal engine performance and fuel efficiency.
- Maintain detailed records of repairs, services, and parts used.
- Operate diagnostic and cleaning machines for both gasoline and diesel injectors.
- Collaborate with other mechanics and technicians to resolve engine performance issues.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a clean, organized workspace.
- Stay updated on new fuel injection technologies and manufacturer service bulletins.
Qualifications & Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational/technical training in automotive or diesel mechanics preferred.
- Proven experience as a Fuel Injector Mechanic or similar mechanical role.
- Strong knowledge of fuel delivery systems, internal combustion engines, and diagnostic equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and manufacturer guidelines.
- Skilled in using precision tools, cleaning systems, and calibration equipment.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Attention to detail with a commitment to high-quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physical stamina and dexterity to handle small, intricate components.
Preferred Certifications
- Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certification in relevant areas.
- Manufacturer-specific training or certification (diesel/gasoline fuel systems).
- Safety and workplace compliance training.
Working Conditions
- Full-time, on-site role in a workshop or service center environment.
- Exposure to machinery, solvents, fuels, and high-pressure systems.
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) required.
- Occasional overtime or weekend work may be required based on workload.
